President and CEO
David G. Creighton
In
his capacity as President and CEO of Cordiant, David Creighton oversees
the management of the IFPT and CIFA funds. As Chairman of the Management
Committee and member of the Investment Committee of Cordiant, he
has been directly involved with the analysis and approval of over
80 private sector investments spread over 30 emerging countries.
Over the course of his 23 year career, Mr. Creighton has accumulated
extensive experience in the field of international capital markets,
initially in Toronto with Richardson Greenshields, in the area of
International Money Markets, and later with Burns Fry in New York.
He spent 13 years in London, England, as Vice President and Director
for the merged firm of BMO Nesbitt Burns, where he managed and developed
the international fixed income sales team. During this tenure, he
expanded the institutional European, African, Middle Eastern and
Asian businesses. Under his direction, offices were opened in Hong
Kong, Singapore and Beijing. Mr. Creighton has had extensive dealings
in fund management, financial engineering, derivatives and securitizations.
In 1999, Mr. Creighton returned
to Montreal to coordinate the launch of the first IFPT fund.
Mr. Creighton is an honours graduate
from the University of Guelph where he studied Agricultural Economics.
His directorships include Cordiant, AC Water Canada, Canada/South
Africa Chamber and he is Chairman of the Investment Committee for
the BCS Foundation. In addition to being a member of the Securities
Institute in the United Kingdom and registered with the Securities
and Exchange Commission in the United States, he is also a fellow
of the Royal Geographic Society. He has been a contributor and fundraiser
with a number of local and international causes. He is a governor
of the Montréal Museum of Contemporary Art and has travelled
extensively around the world.
